Your afternoon will include a pick-up at 1:30 PM for a visit to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university from the 11th century. At 3:15 PM, you'll depart for the Hoa Lo Prison Museum, historically used for political prisoners and later known as the "Hanoi Hilton" by American POWs. You will return to your hotel between 4:15 PM and 4:30 PM.
Between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter or Lily's office in Hoan Kiem district, and you'll depart for Ninh Binh province. Around 9:15 AM, you'll have a short 15-20 minute break to relax. At 10:30 AM, you'll visit Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam from 968 to 1010, where you can learn about Vietnamese history during the Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasties. You'll enjoy a buffet lunch around 11:45 AM at a restaurant offering local dishes like goat meat, fish, chicken, and fried rice, with vegetarian options available. At 1:00 PM, you'll explore Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning tunnel cave system, which served as a filming location for "Kong: Skull Island." You'll be captivated by its beauty during a 2.5-hour boat trip. Around 5:00 PM, you'll begin your return journey. If you're staying overnight in Ninh Binh, you'll be taken to your hotel in Tam Coc, Trang An, or near Mua Cave. If you're returning to Hanoi, you'll be dropped off at your Old Quarter hotel. If you have onward travel by train or bus, you'll be taken to the respective station. For those traveling directly to another province, arrangements will be made accordingly.
At 8:00 AM, your tour guide and a shuttle bus will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter for a 2.5-hour journey to Halong Bay, with a 20-minute break in Hai Duong province around 10:30 AM. You'll arrive at Tuan Chau harbor between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM. After a welcome drink and meeting the captain and crew for a briefing on the cruise and safety, you'll complete the check-in process. You'll then explore a natural lagoon in Lan Ha Bay, where you can swim or simply sunbathe in the private, fresh air. At 3:45 PM, you'll go kayaking with guidance in picturesque spots, followed by more swimming or sunbathing. As the day winds down, you'll head back towards the sleeping area. At 6:00 PM, join the Sunset party for photos and relaxation. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM, featuring special seafood and typical Vietnamese dishes. The evening offers entertainment such as games, squid fishing, and massage services before you spend the night on the Cruise.
Between 7:00 and 7:45 AM, enjoy breakfast with a morning view of the bay, perhaps with a cup of tea or coffee. At 8:00 AM, immerse yourself in the stunning scenery of the bay and its dramatic limestone islets as you visit the famous Frog Pond, where you can freely kayak, explore the landscape, or swim. Around 9:15 AM, return to your cabin to relax and double-check your luggage before departure. Check out from your private cabin at 9:30 AM and enjoy a final, scenic cruise on the bay for room service. Complete the check-out procedure and savor your last lunch on the cruise. After breakfast, you'll be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, enjoy some free time to relax before your afternoon excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels, starting at 12:45 PM. This legendary 220km underground network, a significant historical site from the Vietnam War, is about 60km from the city. En route, admire the scenery of rice fields and waterways. Explore sections of the tunnels, discover hidden areas, and imagine the life of resistance soldiers. You can see smokeless stoves, try wartime food, and optionally experience shooting an AK-47. The tour concludes around 7:00 PM with your return to Ho Chi Minh City.
Enjoy breakfast and be ready around 8:00 - 8:30 AM for your Mekong Delta exploration. A 1.5-hour bus journey will take you to My Tho through lush rice paddies. Explore the Mekong River by boat, observing floating houses and local fishing. Visit an island famous for coconut products and bee farms offering honey and wine tasting. Enjoy traditional Vietnamese music. Have lunch at a local restaurant and visit the Vinh Trang pagoda, the largest in the delta. Enjoy some free time before returning to the city for a relaxed evening and overnight hotel stay.
Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel. Our driver will then provide a comfortable transfer to the airport for your flight back home, concluding your amazing Vietnam tour.
